Graco Strollers

Graco Alano Travel System, Greer
Graco is a very well established American company with a history going back to 1942. Today most parents are
familiar with not only Graco strollers but their extensive range of high quality baby
equipment.
It all started in Philadelphia when Russell Gray and Robert Cone formed a company which they named Graco
Metal Products. This company was not involved in the manufacture of baby strollers at all and for the first eleven
years produced car and machinery parts. In 1953 Russel Gray decided to leave the company and this lead to Robert
Cone taking the decision to move into other areas of manufacturing.
The Birth Of Graco Strollers
The move to baby strollers and other baby gear came about almost by chance. A Graco employee by the name of
David Saint was told a story by a colleague of how his wife would get their baby to settle down to sleep by sitting
with him in the backyard swing. As saint was a father of nine children this would have been of interest to him! It
put the seed of an idea into his head and he began work on what would become the Graco Swingomatic. Graco were
astounded at the success of this swing which they sold millions of in the coming years.
From there Graco went from strength to strength with baby strollers, infant car seats, travel systems and more.
Today Graco is still as innovative as ever with products like their digital baby monitor and have built up a
following of loyal and satisfied customers.
